LISTEN NOW:

Through this collection of sounds, it conjures the landscapes that inspired them—endless open spaces, dense wilderness, and sprawling coastlines all resonate in the music’s DNA. The result is a sound that completely envelops you—hypnotic in its depth, yet overwhelming in its emotional weight.

about this album

Rupert Thomas, known for his work with Erasers, channels his electronic explorations through his solo project Leaving, based in Perth, Western Australia. Using an array of hardware synthesizers, he constructs immersive soundscapes that oscillate between deep, slow-burning ambience and intricately layered rhythmic patterns, all woven together with hypnotic melodic textures.

In 2024, Leaving unveils Hidden View, his second full-length album, released jointly by Moon Glyph and Pouring Dream. Recorded and mixed at home over the course of 2023, the album emerged from a deliberately restrained setup of analog synths, resulting in a sound that is at once introspective and expansive. Hidden View carries the weight of its environment, echoing the sprawling bushland, vast skies, and rugged coastlines of Western Australia. These compositions blur the line between meticulous craftsmanship and free-flowing reverie, offering listeners a space for both deep focus and meditative escape.

With its moody undertones and emotive depth, Hidden View solidifies Leaving’s ability to translate place and atmosphere into sound, inviting the listener into a world that feels both intimately personal and universally resonant.
