Produced with Richie Kennedy and mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer, Interplay draws on the full arc of Ride's career. The frenzied guitar attacks and dreamy melodic hooks that made Nowhere and Going Blank Again classics are still here, but set against a broader sonic palette influenced by 1980s pop: think Tears For Fears, Talk Talk, and early U2. Thematically, the record pairs classic Ride lyrical hallmarks, escapism, dreams, and modern dissatisfaction, with a hard-won sense of resilience. Across 12 tracks and nearly 59 minutes, it is the sound of a band hitting a genuine second peak.
